The works performed by STATICUS UAB as well as the company’s competences were highly evaluated at the Lithuanian Product of the Year 2011 competition. The experts awarded the gold medal to STATICUS for the design and installation of the façade, sun shading, roof and internal structures of the office building Kuggen in Gothenburg, Sweden.

KUGGEN - sustainable office building, which already get international attention: it was commended in the Sustainability category of the 2009 MIPIM Architectural Review Future Project Awards, shortlisted in the Best Sustainable Technology Incorporate into a Building of the year category for The 2011 Emirates Glass LEAF Awards, shortlisted at World Architecture Festival 2011 i Barcelona in the category Learning and University/College buildings. The round building has unique shape and looks different from every direction. The upper floors project out over the lower—more on the south side than on the north, so that the building partially shades itself when the sun is high in the sky. A rotating automatic sun screen shades the top floor, following the sun’s path around the building. Sun screen was prefabricated from a lot of different color aluminium pieces. For outer walls structures Staticus specialists have offered their own solution - it was decided to produce fully prefabricated wall elements with already installed aluminium-glass structures in the STATICUS factory to keep as much as possible good quality and to save installation time. For facade claddings there were used colorful ceramic tiles. All aluminium-glass structures was glazed with 3 layers insulating glass units with special sun control layer.
