What makes us stronger and different?
Looking for solutions
UAB STATICUS activities differ from those of other construction companies: prior to signing an agreement, the company’s specialists consult the architects who design the project. Such business consultations are never in vain because their outcome is beneficial for both parties; besides, cooperation started beforehand helps to find excellent solutions and facilitates the implementation of such solutions. It was during such consultations with architect Eugenijus Miliūnas when the decision to use holographic glass of Lithuanian suppliers in the project of Šiauliai Arena because supplies from Dubai would cost too much.
Furthermore, there had been nobody in Lithuania who could propose a solution for the glass roof of GEDIMINO 9 shopping centre with the use of aluminium profiles which would satisfy the requirements of the architect. The team of UAB STATICUS invented moulding of a special profile complying with all the requirements. Coordinated with architect Antanas Gvidis, the project was implemented successfully at a considerably lower cost.According to Tadas Dovbyšas, the head of one of member companies of SBA Group, the solution proposed by UAB STATICUS design engineers for the A-class office building ‘Green Hall’, which will shortly add to the fair landscape of Vilnius, helped to save quite a few million Litas. The task received from architect Aleksej Birjukovs when designing Aurora residential buildings complex in Riga was also resolved in a non-standard way: horizontally sliding wooden blinds in an aluminium frame mounted at the edge of the recessed balcony. They became an additional decoration of the building, and Aidas Šuopis, the director of SIA Ranga IV Latvija, was glad to say that this constructive cooperation helped successful implementation of one of the best projects in Riga. According to A. Šuopis, it is the assistance of UAB STATICUS what allowed this project to considerably overpass any projects implemented in Riga by that time.
Currently, the company’s specialists consult Moscow architects. Linstow AS, one of Norway’s leading investors and property developers is planning to construct hotels in two Russian cities. It is the hotel to be erected in Moscow for which the customers invited UAB STATICUS designers as designing consultants. The latter will have to assess the project and to optimise and develop alternative options on the basis of the requirements presented. After the project is completed, the company will take part in the tender for facade installation.
UAB STATICUS has already been evaluated and acknowledged by foreign construction organisations, investors, and architects from Latvia, Denmark, Great Britain, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Russia and other countries.
Quality in focus
UAB STATICUS never accepts any orders which would require infringement of the Construction Technical Regulations or other effective regulatory requirements as well as such which may cause irreparable consequences to the customer. However, there are still some customers who would like to raise a higher profit from a project by replacing more expensive materials with cheaper ones, or evading or failing to observe the Construction Technical Regulations or any other regulations. UAB STATICUS applies all its effort to work in a high-quality manner and searches for interesting and innovative solutions. Such solutions require high-quality materials and precise installation. Any minor mistake can cause huge losses, and this is why the company’s specialists re-calculate and re-check everything many times to avoid any mistake before starting to implement a new project.
UAB STATICUS is always striving and looking for the best final result, and the company’s general director V. Vankevičius declared 2008 as ‘The Year of Quality’.
Valuing the employees
Today the company employs around 288 people. Most of UAB STATICUS specialists came from UAB Hronas. The fact that UAB STATICUS is a strong and mature spin-off of UAB Hronas rather than a new market player causes the trust of the company’s partners.
Unlike some other construction organisations, UAB STATICUS is not affected by high employee turnover or shortage of specialists. According to the company’s project manager Aira Macytė, the team has a friendly atmosphere, business-like cooperation, and team spirit – maybe, this is why people leave the company very seldom. The managers always take notice if some employee feels not quite well and try to talk to him or her – such conversations help to resolve problems and maintain a strong and harmonised team. “Those who leave abroad for working come back to us very often because we try to maintain and value our employees”, A. Macytė said.
The company’s team is quite young. UAB STATICUS follows the principle that people should be ‘brought up’, and this is why the company also employs undergraduate students. This approach has already proved to be correct as many former students have already ‘grown up’ into perfect specialists.
Aspirations: ambitious but realistic
The main exclusive feature of UAB STATICUS is the courage to offer non-standard solutions. The company’s specialists always follow the world’s latest developments, adopt new solutions, and implement them in Lithuania. Customers like it when they are approached by a company which does not offer ordinary solutions and is not afraid of innovations and higher labour costs.
The biggest projects implemented by UAB STATICUS include the office building of Hansabankas, Molėtai Observatory (no other Lithuanian construction organisation determined to undertake this project), Hanner residential building in Riga, and desiging, manufacturing and installation of the facades of SBA and Lukoil office buildings.
